Nift Courses with Master ProgrammesM.FTech. Master of Fashion Technology
The modern fashion industry requires highly qualified engineers who can also provide their expertise in managing the industrial processes. Keeping that in mind, NIFT has designed the degree program M.FTech. (Master of Fashion Technology). The course is for the professionals who want to enhance their technical qualifications in the field of fashion and get higher posts in large corporations and fashion houses.
The curriculum allows the students to get the deepest experience of the fashion industry infrastructure. The practical exposure is provided, so that, the students can easily grab the requirements of the real fashion technology environment.
The structure of the program
The whole course is designed for two years. Both years provide specialized skills and knowledge of the fashion industry.
The first year takes the students to all the aspects of sewn product manufacturing along with the understanding of Fabrics, Apparel quality management, pattern appreciation, and the technology used in the production of apparel. Then, the students are asked to select subjects as their specializations. These specializations allow the students to dig deeper in the fields of Fabric processing, Apparel marketing, Plant Layout, Fabric processing, and other sectors. Along with the common understanding of the industry, the students learn about Industrial Engineering, Pattern Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, and Garment Construction. Plus, the students also take internships between the semesters to explore the industry better.
The second year allows the students to enhance their problem-solving capacity and understand the strategy making procedures in the Finance Management, Retail Management, International business, Business planning, and Entrepreneurship management. Especially the students studying for “Strategy” specialization get to learn about the technology management, Web Data management, and Computer Integrated Manufacturing. On the other hand, students who choose “Operations” as their specialization get training in Patternmaking, Construction, and Ergonomics with Apparel CAD.
The scope after completing the course
The degree holder can work in the large corporations handling Apparel Technology Management, Industrial Engineering, Production Management, Merchandising and many other areas.
